Regulations of the shoe cleaning service
- Footwear that does not have cleaning recommendations from the manufacturer is accepted at the responsibility of the customer. The shoe cleaning service is performed on the basis of its experience and knowledge of the services provided. Services are performed in accordance with the principles of craftsmanship and capabilities, which are determined by the condition of footwear provided by the Customer and the material from which the footwear is made.
- Footwear accepted at the EBS laundry is subjected to detailed verification at the Shoe Cleaning Center, where before the cleaning process, photographic documentation of the footwear is taken.
- After verification of footwear and finding it impossible to guarantee a satisfactory cleaning result, EBS S.A. may refuse the service.
- Before returning footwear for cleaning, the customer is required to remove items permanently unrelated to the footwear, i.e. packaging, boxes, dust bags, etc.
- The cleaning service does not restore the condition of footwear from the day of purchase. The cleaning effect depends on the degree of dirt and wear of the footwear. Not all stains, yellowing and intense dirt can be removed. During the cleaning and maintenance process, the degree of wear and tear of footwear may become apparent. In the process of cleaning and maintenance, footwear may shrink or become deformed.
- The cleaning process may reveal stains and discoloration hidden under a layer of dirt (in particular, the black and pink lining may stain the upper at the footwear’s seam).
- After cleaning, the color of footwear may be lighter compared to the state before cleaning, due to the fact that the darkening layer of dirt and care products in the cleaning process will be removed. In textile shoes, the dye is partially washed out in the cleaning process (which may cause discoloration/fading of the shoe color).
- The suede from which the footwear is made may turn a darker shade and harden slightly in the cleaning process.
- Footwear made of nubuck and velour leathers in light, pastel colors may lose their original color after the cleaning process. Velour leathers may change their structure (harden significantly) after the cleaning process.
- In multicolored footwear, both leather and textile, dye migration and permanent discoloration can occur.
- Footwear in white, made of fabric or leather, may not regain its original white. The mesh on the shoes after cleaning will not regain its original appearance (it will not get clean).
- Lacquered footwear is not suitable for refinishing.
- The two-layer fabric of the footwear may become dislodged in the cleaning process.
- The adhesives used by the manufacturer after the cleaning process can leave permanent yellow and black marks on the surface of all footwear.
- Footwear with reduced durability during the cleaning process is prone to rips and tears. Defects created during use, after the cleaning process, may become larger.
- Footwear after attempts at home cleaning is accepted without any guarantee of the final result.
- Decorative elements and prints, such as logos, on shoes during cleaning may be damaged.
- The interior of the shoes is only refreshed (may be under-cleaned, and stains may also remain).
- Plastic soles rubbed, discolored and stained during use will not regain their original appearance in the cleaning process (especially in ECCO brand shoes, the soles will remain discolored/rubbed). The durability of the sole painting depends on the type of material from which it is made.
- Dyeing can result in a color that is close to, but not identical to, the original color. Footwear subjected to dyeing may dye unevenly: in heavily soiled areas, due to hidden defects in the leathers, partial abrasion and variety of leathers.
- The cleaning service does not include shoe repair. When a stitching service is performed, such as gluing/stitching, traces resulting from the repair process may remain. The materials used for repair (rubbers, locks, rivets, etc.) may differ from those originally used.
- In special cases, i.e. due to the variety of materials, heavy soiling resulting from use, as well as due to fortuitous circumstances, the time of service delivery may be extended. In these cases, the customer is informed about the change of the service completion date by phone /SMS/.
